Common questions

How do I restore a saved project?

Open Projects. Choose Review to inspect marks and the 3D overview without camera recognition. Choose Resume AR at the original location, using the saved reference photo as a guide. Compare the restored marks with real surfaces before confirming alignment.

Alignment is recovering or my marks have shifted.

Return to the original scan area in good lighting and move the phone slowly while viewing recognizable surfaces. Changes to furniture, lighting, or the room can affect recognition. If alignment does not recover, use project Review to inspect your saved data. Do not rely on shifted marks for physical work.

Why does my LiDAR scan have gaps?

Scanning captures visible surfaces and can miss reflective, transparent, obscured, or distant areas. Move slowly, revisit gaps from another angle, and keep surfaces in view. Check the scan status and capacity shown in the app. A saved overview is approximate and may not include every surface.

How do I know my project is saved?

Wait for the saved status before closing the app. Saving captures an AR map when tracking is ready. If saving fails, check available device storage and retry with your phone unlocked. Keep the project open until you confirm it saved, and export a project backup for important work.

Does my iPhone need LiDAR?

Live surface mesh scanning requires a LiDAR-equipped iPhone. Other supported AR-capable iPhones can use basic spatial marking and measuring without a LiDAR surface mesh. Available features depend on device capabilities.

Can HouseMarks find studs or hidden pipes?

No. You can record positions you identify using a stud finder or other appropriate methods, along with evidence and notes. The app does not detect concealed infrastructure. Verify every drilling or cutting location independently.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the project in Projects, then open Projects → Recovery history and remove retained recovery points. Exported files, shared reports, screenshots, and device backups are separate copies; manage them at their destinations. Uninstalling HouseMarks removes its local app data.

How can I send feedback while using TestFlight?

Use TestFlight’s feedback options or email the support address above. Feedback you send through TestFlight is handled by Apple and may be shared with the developer. Review screenshots and attachments before sending them.
